For Charles Gordon it was the biblical Garden of Eden – for world explorers, it is paradise! The islands of this multicultural archipelago enchant all travellers with their unique nature, picturesque granite rock formations, and a fascinating underwater world. The routes of these cruises lead through the Inner Islands of the Seychelles, offering opportunities for snorkelling, stand-up paddling, kayaking, diving – and, of course, pure enjoyment.
S.Y. Sea Star and S.Y. Sea Bird – modern sailing yachts specially built for this purpose – are ideal for relaxed exploration of the inner Seychelles islands, discovering exclusive spots and idyllic bays. The predominantly Seychellois crew, the traditional Creole cuisine, and the laid-back atmosphere on board come together to create an authentic experience and an incomparable sailing cruise.
Day 1 (Saturday ) Embarkation, Mahé Island / Beau Vallon Bay
Embarkation takes place at 10:30 a.m. at the Inter-Island Quay in the port of Victoria on Mahé, the main island. During the welcome briefing by the captain, you will receive important information about the cruise. Around 12:00 noon, the ship sets sail, following the beautiful coastline and circumnavigating the northern part of Mahé. You’ll pass the famous Beau Vallon Bay and the dramatic scenery of the northwest coast, with its impressive granite cliffs, lush vegetation, and strikingly blue waters. In the evening, enjoy a Creole-style BBQ on board to start immersing yourself in the local culinary culture. (L, AT, D)
Day 2 (Sunday) Mahé Island / Baie Ternay
Today you’ll arrive at the fascinating Baie Ternay Marine Park on the western coast of Mahé. The calm, crystal-clear waters invite you to spend the day snorkelling and diving. In the afternoon, the ship returns to Beau Vallon Bay, anchoring at one of the best spots to enjoy a breathtaking Seychellois sunset, with hues ranging from orange to soft pink. (B, L, AT, D)
Day 3 (Monday) Cousin Island
From Mahé, the course is set for the nearby island of Cousin. This strictly protected nature reserve is renowned for its seabird colonies and is also home to rare land bird species endemic to the Seychelles, as well as other native wildlife. In the afternoon, the cruise continues to Praslin. (B, L, AT, D)
Day 4 (Tuesday) Praslin Island
Today you will explore the second-largest inhabited island of the Seychelles. On Praslin, you’ll visit the renowned Vallée de Mai (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), where you’ll marvel at the massive, uniquely shaped Coco de Mer palms and catch a glimpse of the elusive Black Parrot, found only on this island. Wander through the winding paths beneath towering palm canopies before returning to the ship. In the afternoon, you’ll have time for snorkelling, diving, or other water sports. (B, L, AT, D)
Day 5 (Wednesday) La Digue Island
In the morning, you arrive at the “sleepy” island of La Digue, where ox carts and bicycles are the main means of transportation. La Digue is home to the endemic Paradise Flycatcher and is especially famous for the striking granite formations at Source d’Argent – one of the most photographed beaches in the world. The best way to explore the island is by bike, with a stop at Union Estate, where you’ll get a glimpse into traditional island life: a coconut oil mill, a boatyard, and vanilla plantations. (B, L, AT, D)
Day 6 (Thursday) Curieuse & St. Pierre Islands
In the morning, you’ll disembark to explore the almost uninhabited island of Curieuse. Discover vast mangrove forests, a giant tortoise breeding station, and the historic ruins of a former leper colony. Lunch is a BBQ served on the island. Afterwards, you’ll have time for water sports or to simply relax and enjoy the stunning beach and turquoise waters. In the afternoon, the ship heads to tiny granite St. Pierre Island – a superb spot for snorkelling and diving. The ship will anchor off Anse Lazio (Praslin), considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the Seychelles. (B, L, AT, D)
Day 7 (Friday) Mahé Island / Sainte Anne Marine Park
During the day, the ship returns to Mahé. Overnight anchorage is in the Sainte Anne Marine Park, surrounded by a cluster of lush granite islands. (B, L, AT, D)
