One of the most important holidays for Mexicans is Día de los Muertos – the Day of the Dead. In Mexican tradition, death is seen as part of life. According to ancient belief, the deceased come back to earth from the afterlife once a year at the end of the harvest season to celebrate their reunion with their loved ones. Death, life, and Mexican joie de vivre come together, with no trace of sadness. Altars for offerings are built and houses and streets are colourfully decorated. This special trip brings you closer to the colourful celebrations and ancient Mexican traditions of “Día de los Muertos”.

In addition to visits to impressive pre-Columbian ruins, colonial old towns and selected museums, the program includes a tequila and pulque tasting, a visit to a coffee and vanilla plantation and of course impressive visits to cemeteries and churches during the celebrations.
