Day 1 Luxembourg – New York

Flight*/** (Lufthansa) from Luxembourg to Frankfurt at 2.25 p.m. (arrival at 3.15 p.m.) and on to New York at 8.05 p.m.. Arrival in Newark at 4.40 p.m., transfer to the hotel in Manhattan (about ten minutes walk from Times Square) and check-in. Overnight at the Hotel Four Points by Sheraton Midtown Times Square****.

Date 03.05.2024 via Munich/Lufthansa: 1.30 p.m. -2.35 p.m. Luxembourg-Munich / 3.45 p.m. – 6.45 p.m. Munich-New York.

Date 11.10.2024 via Frankfurt/Lufthansa: 10.55 a.m. – 11.45 a.m. Luxembourg-Frankfurt / 1.20 p.m. – 3.40 p.m. Frankfurt-New York.

Day 2 Manhattan, optional Broadway

In the morning you go on a tour of Manhattan: you see Times Square with its many neon signs, walk down the famous 5th Avenue and take a look at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the Rockfeller Center and the Flatiron Building. Grand Central Station, Wall Street (Financial District), a walk through Greenwich Village as well as the multicultural districts of Soho and Chinatown are also on the programme. The afternoon is at your own leisure. In the evening, depending on the programme, you can attend an optional performance at the Broadway Theatre. Information on this will be sent to all booked tour participants a few months before their departure. Overnight at the Hotel Four Points by Sheraton Midtown Times Square****. (B)

Day 3 Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island, optional Empire State Building, optional Dinner Cruise

After breakfast, drive to Battery Park and board the ferry to the Statue of Liberty. The most famous monument in New York (if not the entire USA) embodies the American dream for many. This dream did not come true for everyone. The Immigration Museum shows the harsh reality of settling in the New World at that time and vividly conveys this side of American history. Between 1892 and 1924, almost 12 million immigrants arrived at Ellis Island. The afternoon is at leisure. As part of the optional excursion package, visit (by public transport) the Empire State Building, the tallest building on earth until 1972, and experience a spectacular 360° view of New York, Brooklyn, Queens and beyond. On the clearest days, the view from the 86th floor observation deck stretches across as many as six states to New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Delaware. An optional dinner cruise (buffet, DJ entertainment) on the Hudson and East River offers spectacular views of the city skyline. Walk there and back (approx. 30 minutes/walk). Overnight at Hotel Four Points by Sheraton Midtown Times Square****. (B) 

Day 4 Free time for shopping, optional 9/11 Memorial rock, optional barbecue

Spend the morning at your leisure – walk to Central Park (approx. 30 minutes on foot), visit one of the many museums or go shopping. Optionally, visit the impressive 9/11 Memorial (optional excursion package). The museum in the new World Trade Center tells the story of 9/11 through media, narration and a collection of monumental and authentic artefacts. The memorial, also very impressive, designed by architect Michael Arad, is located on the site of the destroyed World Trade Center. For the evening, you can add an optional typical American barbecue at the (approx. 10 min walk each way). Overnight at Hotel Four Points by Sheraton Midtown Times Square****. (B)

Day 5 Free time, optional Top of the Rock, return flight

Check-out in the morning and time at leisure. The third excursion included in the optional excursion package takes you high up again: From the viewing platforms of the Rockefeller Center at a height of approx. 260 metres, you enjoy panoramic views of the city skyline as a farewell. The return journey to the hotel is the same as the outward journey by public transport. Transfer to the airport You to the airport, at 9.50 pm Lufthansa departs for Europe. (B)

Day 6 Arrival in Luxembourg

You land in Frankfurt at 11.45 p.m. and then fly on to Luxembourg (Lufthansa, 1.05 p.m. – 1:50 p.m.).

Date 03.05.2024: Arrival in Munich at 10.20 a.m., onward flight to Luxembourg (Lufthansa) 11.50 a.m. – 1.50 p.m.

Date 11.10.2024: Arrival in Frankfurt at 7.30 a.m., onward flight to Luxembourg (Lufthansa) 9.40 a.m. – 10.25 a.m..
